Pink slips is mandatory annual check every vehicle which is on NSW roads, has to have. To get a The owner has to present the car to Pink slip inspector for a road worthy check.
The inspector follows the guidelines as per the book from RMS and has to comply fully. The purpose of a pink slip is to check if the vehicle which is going to be registered in NSW, is completely safe and is not a danger for anyone on the road. Once the inspector is satisfied, a pink slip will be issued and after buying green slip the car can be registered at any RMS.
An eSafety (or pink slip) inspection report verifies your vehicle is safe and ready for the road.
Most light vehicles more than 5 years old will require an eSafety check before they can be registered in NSW. Your registration renewal papers will state whether or not you need an inspection.
Once a mechanic signs off your pink slip it is valid for 42 days from the date of issue.
This means you have 42 days to use it to register your vehicle in NSW. Vehicles 5 years or older need a safety check (pink slip) each year.
